I think WordPress may be expecting some flak when WordPress 5.0 come out.
This may be the reason that new Daily Prompts were stopped- a sort of divide and conquer to limit feedback.
I understand WordPress 5.0 uses the Gutenberg editor. It sounds like this is more like a desktop publishing type editor (like Publisher) rather than a word processor (like Word). This may be too complicated for many users.
Many existing themes may not work with Gutenberg.
